{"id":3749,"date":"2015-04-02T07:16:35","date_gmt":"2015-04-02T07:16:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/harlawacademy.aberdeen.sch.uk\/?p=622"},"modified":"2015-04-02T07:16:35","modified_gmt":"2015-04-02T07:16:35","slug":"under-14-football-sportsmans-club-shield","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/harlawacademy.org\/new\/2015\/04\/02\/under-14-football-sportsmans-club-shield\/","title":{"rendered":"Under 14 Football Sportsman\u2019s Club Shield"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Under 14 Football Sportsman\u2019s Club Shield<\/h1>\n<p>The Sportsman\u2019s Club shield was first played for in 1975 \u2013 that year it was won by Hazlehead Academy.\u00a0 At the time Hazlehead had a great S2 team which included Neil Cooper who went on to win a Cup Winners Cup medal and numerous other trophies with Aberdeen, Rangers and Scotland.<\/p>\n<p>Over its 50 year history it has only once before been won by Harlaw Academy \u2013 in 1983.\u00a0 David Robertson, who went on to play for Aberdeen, Rangers and Scotland played in that particular Harlaw team.<\/p>\n<p>It has taken 32 years to bring it back to Harlaw \u2013 so this is a major achievement.\u00a0 Hopefully this insight into the history of the trophy is an inspiration to the boys who played in the 2015 team which beat Oldmachar 5-0 in the final.\u00a0 Maybe one or more of this squad can follow in the footsteps of the local legends named above.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Sportsman\u2019s Club Shield \u2013 match report<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Harlaw started well but both teams had chances in opening 15 minutes<\/p>\n<p>15 minutes into game Ewan Reid ran in from the right onto a through ball from Kyle Koss.\u00a0 He took one touch before hitting a fierce shot over the keeper and into the far corner of the net.
