Come in to ask a question, try some practice papers or finish any outstanding assessment work 12:50-1:25 in C31.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>RIGHTS RESPECTING AWARD<\/u><\/strong><strong> \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Can all Rights respecting ambassadors please attend a meeting on BOTH Monday 20<sup>th<\/sup> at Lunchtime and Thursday 3.15 \u2013 4\/4.15. Both meetings will be held in A33 attendance is essential in preparation for the upcoming event.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>NEW EXTRACURRICULAR OPPORTUNITY<\/u><\/strong><strong> \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Mr. Nelson is going to start a social running club for ALL abilities and ALL ages. The first\u00a0session will take place on Thursday the 23<sup>rd<\/sup> of November after school, please bring suitable footwear and clothing for running outside.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>INTERHOUSE S1 BASKETBALL \u2013 FRIDAY 24<sup>th<\/sup> NOVEMBER<\/u><\/strong><strong> \u2013 <\/strong>The next Interhouse will be on Friday 24<sup>th<\/sup> November, and is S1 Basketball.\u00a0 Sports Captain\u2019s will be collecting names for teams, all forms must be returned to the PE Department by Thursday.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>SENIOR BASKETBALL <\/u><\/strong><strong>\u2013 <\/strong>Training on today after school in the games hall. Next game in Monday 4<sup>th<\/sup> December away to Bucksburn<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>JUNIOR BASKETBALL <\/u><\/strong><strong>\u2013 <\/strong>Practice is on Wednesday lunchtime.\u00a0 S2\/3 tournament Thursday 23<sup>rd<\/sup> November at Harlaw. S1 festival is Monday 27<sup>th<\/sup> November after school at Beacon Leisure Centre.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><strong><u>SHOEBOX APPEAL <\/u><\/strong><strong>\u2013 <\/strong>I am looking for any donations for this appeal. Shoeboxes, Christmas wrapping paper, stationary, toiletries, socks, scarves, gloves, small games and toys.\u00a0 All S2 pupils are taking part in this during PSE.\u00a0 All items gratefully accepted. <u>Boxes to be completed by first week in December.<\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>S3 COMPETITION \u201cOUR WORLD\u201d \u2013 Modern Languages, Thursday 23<sup>rd<\/sup> November<\/u><\/strong><strong> \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Could all pupils mentioned in the list get registered first to their Period 5 class on Thursday 23<sup>rd<\/sup> November before being taken to the Hall.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>S1-S3 BADMINTON LEAGUE\u00a0 <\/u><\/strong>Any pupils from S1-S3 who would be interested in representing Harlaw at the Active Schools Regional Badminton Qualifiers on 27 November from 4pm-6pm at Cults Academy please see Vicki in PE Dept. at break today or Mr Connor at Badminton Club at lunchtime.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>READERS &amp; WRITERS CLUB\u00a0 <\/u><\/strong>If you love reading and writing, come along to the library on Thursday at 12.50pm to find out about the latest writing competitions and how you can take part in the Grampian Children\u2019s book awards.\u00a0 Pupils are welcome to come and read or study <strong><u>quietly<\/u><\/strong>.\u00a0 The computers will be available for homework only \u2013 please book in advance.\u00a0 Sorry, but no games.\u00a0 Doors closed from 1pm.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>FRIDAY FILMCLUB\u00a0 <\/u><\/strong>On Friday we\u2019re watching comedy gem, \u201cGroundhog Day\u201d starring Bill Murray, 12.30-1.25pm.\u00a0 Don\u2019t miss it!\u00a0 Bring your packed lunch \u2013 but no hot food.\u00a0 Doors close at 12.40pm.<u><\/u><u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>GAMING CLUB\u00a0\u00a0 <\/u><\/strong>This weeks\u2019 gaming club will be for S1 pupils only! All welcome. Friday lunchtime in B36<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>DUKE OF EDINBURGH AWARD<\/u><\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Inchgarth Community Centre are looking for volunteers to help with a new youth group starting on the 19<sup>th<\/sup> January. \u00a0Anyone still looking for Volunteering for their DofE award should get information from Mrs Cooper or Mr Whyte.<u><\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>DUKE OF EDINBURGH AWARD\u00a0 <\/u><\/strong>Pupils registered for <strong>Gold<\/strong> should come to a meeting on Monday 27<sup>th<\/sup> November at 12.45p.m. in B6. Harlaw came 16<sup>th<\/sup><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> out of 32 schools in Scotland. A particular mention to the following pupils who placed well in the competition:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: black; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; font-size: 11pt;\">Darren Barbour (1V1) who placed <b>28<sup>th<\/sup><\/b> out of 345 S1 boys in Scotland<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; font-size: 11pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sadie McTamney (2W1) who placed <b>23<sup>rd<\/sup><\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> out of 146 S2 girls in Scotland<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; font-size: 11pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Chris Bardas (4V2) who placed <b>2nd<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> and <\/span>Jakub Zbikowski (4C1)<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> placed <\/span><b><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6<sup>th<\/sup><\/span><\/b><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> out of 139 S4 Boys in Scotland.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b><u><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\">MODERN LANGUAGES IN THE ARMY<\/span><\/u><\/b><b><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\">\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; font-size: 11pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">All S3 pupils will be taken to the Assembly Hall during their French lesson on Friday morning in order to attend a presentation given by Sergeant Clare Stoddart. This will give pupils an excellent opportunity to ask questions and know more about army jobs and the relevance of languages. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; font-size: 11pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><strong><u><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">LEOS SNOW BALL \u2013 14<sup>TH<\/sup><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> DECEMBER<\/span><\/span><\/u><\/strong> <span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; font-size: 11pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The annual snow ball is being held from 7-9.45pm on 14<sup>th<\/sup><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> December for S5&amp;6 pupils. The Leos are looking for staff to come along to help supervise.
